Thom Collegiate

Hi! I’m Jaena!

I’m currently in my senior year of high school at Thom Collegiate. I enjoyed my years at Thom and will definitely miss high school but am very eager to move on to other things in life! Being in high school when Covid was at its peak was definitely challenging; I attended E-School for grade ten and learned to manage lockdown, while also prioritizing school work. While at Thom, I was part of the volleyball team and was proud to represent my school while doing something that I love. I have always striven for academic excellence through hard work and dedication and have maintained a 90+ percent average throughout high school.

Aside from academia and extracurriculars, I am also proud of all the other things that I have accomplished in life so far! I have pushed myself through mental health issues and have maintained my first job for the last two years.

My high school experience has been full of many highs and lows, but I believe that high school is a place where people find themselves and discover their passions, strengths, weaknesses and goals. These last four years have taught me many things, but most importantly, when asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, I can finally answer that daunting question. I am going to be a doctor! I will be attending the University of Regina in the Pre-Med program to take the first steps towards this goal.
