Jaimesyn T.

Thom Collegiate

My name is Jaimesyn, I’m a Grade 12 French Immersion student at Ecole Thom Collegiate graduating June 2023. One of my goals in elementary school was to be involved in the community. I was a part of the student activity council starting in elementary school and continued each year and later joined A.C.T. in grade 9. I’ve tried a few sports, starting with kempo at Spirit of the Dragon Martial Arts School at 7 years old. I have my brown belt and am working towards my black belt. Martial arts allowed me to travel to compete at different levels including internationally, I was a part of the Elite Team that traveled to Orlando in 2019 which added to my love of traveling. I started wrestling in high school. My late Grandma and I shared a love of wrestling before she passed away in late 2022. I committed to Cat-town Wrestling Club in Regina in grade 9. I am currently trying out for Team Sask’s wrestling team that is traveling to Halifax to compete at the North American Indigenous Games.

When I am not busy with school or sports, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My family and I are avid escape room fans and we’ve recently opened Regina’s first Indigenous women owned escape room, Topp Escapes.

In the fall, I hope to be attending the University of Regina where I want to study Social Work and work with youth to create safer environments.
