Keely Coleman

Balfour Collegiate

My name is Keely Coleman, and I am currently a grade twelve student at Balfour Collegiate. I have been lucky enough to participate in the Balfour Arts Collective that gave me the opportunity to learn through an arts focused lens. I have always been obsessed with anything involving the arts; my love started as soon as I could walk, and dance parties became an almost daily occurrence. At age four, I began taking dance classes at Dance Plus Regina. I’ve continued this love for dance to this day as I have competed on local, national and world level stages, and learned from legends like Vincent Paterson, Amy Wright, and the Rockettes. Although all of these opportunities have been incredible, my biggest accomplishment has to be my students. I have been teaching dance for five years to kids ranging from absolute beginners at age one to graduating seniors who are eighteen, and I care for them immeasurably. All of my students are held to a high standard in not only their discipline, but their character as well, and they consistently make me proud to be their teacher. My passion for the arts does not stop at dance as I am an actress, self-taught guitar, and piano player, singer, and songwriter. I wouldn’t be able to pursue my passion in the arts if it weren’t for my amazing parents, my teachers & mentors, my friends who support me in everything, and my family. Everyone is a teacher; learn something new.
