Kate Sveinbjornson
Winston Knoll Collegiate
My name is Kate Sveinbjornson and I am a Grade 12 student at Winston Knoll Collegiate.
Brene Brown has a saying, “Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world” and that certainly rings true for me. From more traditional drawing and painting to drama, improv and music, creativity has played a large part in my life. It fills me with joy to express myself through creative outlets. I would like to help foster that in others as well.
For next year, I have been accepted in the University of Regina in the Faculty of Education. I plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major in English and minor in Visual Art. It is my goal to create a safe and inviting space for students to express themselves. I really want to make a difference and give back to the community by becoming a positive mentor for future generations.
I am extremely grateful to my family, along with my best friend Julie, who have encouraged me and been my biggest cheering section. They have helped to provide me with the opportunities and experiences that have molded me into the person I am today.
