Scott Collegiate

I am 17 years old, and I started at Scott Collegiate when I was in grade 11. I personally enjoyed and valued every second I spent in school. I love things from nature, space, animals and sports. I am a very outgoing person and creative. I like keeping myself busy, working hard and thriving for the best. I lost my sister on August 11th, 2021, which sadly had a huge impact on my grade 12th year. Coming to school became harder than I thought and doing everything like I used to didn’t feel the same without her here. I stopped coming to school, but I knew that a part of me was still determined not to let my sister down. She never gave up on me and my passion for school. She was excited to see me graduate this year, but she will still be here in spirit. The dog in this picture was originally her dog, her name is Luna. Luna was a huge part of my sister’s life, and I know that my sister would be proud of my family taking her in and protecting her the same way she did. When I see Luna, she reminds me of the good I have had with Crystal, and what to hold onto so that I can grieve the way I know she would’ve wanted me to. This year has been the most difficult, but I learned the most from it, and I know I can conquer anything especially if I put my mind to it. Know that in times when it does get rough, you are a lot stronger than you think you are, you are loved, and you matter.
