Zave (Francis Xavier) – Sheldon-Williams Collegiate
My name is Zave (Francis Xavier) Goetz. I am a proud Spartan, graduating from Sheldon-Williams Collegiate. I have been truly fortunate to be a part of such an exciting and diverse high school. I am proud to be an Advanced Placement (AP) student in English and Calculus, one of the handful left after four years.
I’ve had the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports: football, wrestling, curling, badminton, handball, track, and the outdoor club. Outside of school, I am a biathlete and provincial handball player. I have been given many opportunities to travel through the sport of handball. In July, my team and I will journey to Sweden to compete in an international handball tournament.
Although academics and athletics have been my main focus in high school, I’ve been given the opportunity to do much more. I have been involved in both concert and jazz band, which has allowed me to learn new instruments, travel and perform around Canada. I have also been an active participant of the SLC, learning leadership, communication, and speaking skills. This has also helped me to create a positive vibe around the school and encourage community service such as volunteering or donating blood!
I am thankful to many friends, teachers, and coaches who taught, encouraged, challenged and inspired me. I can’t thank my family enough for supporting me with my endeavours and having my back every step of the way. I hope that in the future I can do these same things for others.
