Regina Christian School

My name is Daisy Flaman, and I have been attending Regina Christian School since Kindergarten. Throughout my time at RCS, I have learned about the importance of leadership and servanthood while growing closer to God, my peers and my teachers.

While I have been at RCS, I have been heavily involved in extracurricular activities. I have had the opportunity to participate in SLC, local and international missions, volleyball, musical, yearbook and curling. I have also always aimed for excellence in academics and have consistently been on the honour roll.

Outside of school, you can find me serving in children’s programs at my church, playing piano and tending to my houseplants. Church has always been a big part of my life, and I love that I have the opportunity to serve alongside friends and family. I also grew up playing piano and it has become a source of relaxation during stressful times.

After graduation, I will be attending Summit Pacific College in Abbotsford, British Columbia for one year. Following Bible school, I will be attending the University of Regina to pursue a career that I can use to serve those around me.

My name is Jessica Anne Geisam, and I will be graduating from Regina Christian School in 2020. Throughout high school, I have participated in many extracurricular programs at my school. Some of these include volleyball, basketball, soccer, student leadership club, mentorship, international buddies, and many more throughout my years.

I have a passion for helping people and getting to know them. This is probably because of my amazing family, and this passion has caused me to be an outgoing and bubbly person. I am not only happy to be known as someone who is constantly smiling and laughing but also as someone who is there for others and offers help if there is an opportunity. My overall high school experience has been very positive, and I am proud to say that I will always remember being an RCS Grizzly.

One thing that I really enjoy outside of my school hours is spending time with my grandpa and his John Deere collection. He has been collecting tractors for many years and in that time, I have become close with him as we often go on road trips to buy different tractors together. As we go on our journeys, I drive his Cadillac while we talk about everything and anything. He has been a very integral and important person in my life, especially in the past couple of years.

I am very honoured to be representing Regina Christian School and excited to be continuing my education at the University of Regina for kinesiology and then into physiotherapy for my degree. I look forward to seeing what my future holds for me as I journey into adulthood.

Regina Christian School

Over my time at Regina Christian School, I have become involved in many of our activities. I have been majorly involved with the musicals, worship team and choir. I have served on our inner-city team and this year was on the Guatemala missions team. For a couple years, I have been on our Student Leadership Council, where I now serve as a president. I have enjoyed all of my years here at RCS and will be forever grateful for them.

I am forever improving my violin, piano, singing and guitar playing. In efforts to pester my family, I also dabble in playing the recorder. Formal writing is far from my greatest joy in life, but creative writing has grown into one of my biggest comforts. I love all forms of art but will choose pencil drawing over watercolour any day. I serve those I love at both my school and my church. I am an avid coffee enthusiast and will almost always be seen at school with a coffee in hand. I love to dwell on deep topics and to have my thoughts challenged, but more than all of this, I hope to be seen as a caring, servant- hearted, Christian role model and friend.

I was wanting to include elements of my love for music and my faith within my photo. Knox Metropolitan Church is a perfect mix of both. The beautiful stained glass windows and interior of Knox Metropolitan reminds me of my faith as a Christian, which has shaped me into the person who I am today. I also grew up going to Knox Metropolitan for many concerts and musical performances as a child. These performances inspired me to grow into the musician I am today. I believe the Knox Metropolitan Church embodies who I am in my faith and my music.

In my next year, I am planning to attend a song-writing program with YWAM in Alesund, Norway. There I hope to explore and grow in more of my passions. After that, I plan on attending university and eventually someday end up in a position where I can serve God and those around me.

My name is Jon (Mingi) Kim, and I am very thankful for my high school years at Regina Christian School. These years have been such a blessing to me as I have met a lot of new people and learned a lot about God and Canadian culture.

Besides enjoying math and science, I am involved in the high school worship team and the high school musical production. The worship team opened my eyes to the desire to be a great worship leader, and it also opened my ears for music; I have also been having fun being a part of a musical!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time playing my guitar or walking around the city. I am an international student, which keeps me away from my family in Korea, but I enjoy spending time with people here and enjoy the beauty of nature.

I am looking forward to going into the biomedical engineering technology program in BCIT and to UBC after to become a biomedical engineer. Once I graduate, I hope to be able to volunteer in hospitals in third-world countries from time to time.
