My name is Sarah, and I was born on August 27, 1997, in Regina. I am the baby of the family of only three children. Sadly, my oldest brother passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2002. My mom and dad divorced when I was in Grade 3, and now I live with my dad and his roommate. In my household, we have three cats, a dog and a guinea pig.

When I was in Grade 5, I became interested in Japanese culture, watching Anime and reading Manga books. At first, I didn’t know anyone else who shared my interests, but as I got to know my classmates, I discovered that a few others also liked Anime. Right now I’m still into Anime and Manga and I love to cosplay characters, but it’s expensive. Cosplay involves dressing up as your favourite characters from a TV show, cartoon or game. I also really enjoy my shop classes, which are Graphic Arts and Theatre Arts.

In terms of sports, I took swimming lessons in Grades 7 and 8, played softball on a winning team when I was 12 years old, and played badminton in Grade 9.

I’m very excited about graduation and am very proud about being selected for this Youth Salute/Twelfth Year award.
