My name is Payton. I have my own little family. I have a 19-month old son named Kayson, AKA “Sonson,” “Jarjar,” or “Boogie” (he likes boogie). I have an amazing boyfriend (Sonson’s dad) and we are a great team. My boyfriend and I have been together for three years. He’s 20 years old and I’m 19 years old. In three years, we have come a long way. We currently have our own house and jobs, and I attend school full time as well. Being teen parents, we have accomplished a lot for our son and ourselves.

I love being involved in school activities. I’m involved with helping the Grade 12 graduation pow-wow and generally being a great leader around the school. I used to be involved with after-school activities such as Rainbow Youth and dance. As for now, “fun” activities after school involve watching my handsome little boy, cooking supper and taking care of all the “mamma duties.” I also have a job at the Cornwall Centre as a sales associate on top of all of this!

In the fall, I will be attending the First Nations University in the Faculty of Science. I hope to continue my education in pharmacy. I am looking forward to it!
