Michaela S.

Scott Collegiate

My name is Michaela Scott, and I am from Yellow Quill First Nations. I am a proud Aboriginal woman
who attends Scott Collegiate. I cannot believe that this is my last year in high school! I’m so grateful I got
to spend the majority of my high school years at this school.
I am super involved at Scott Collegiate and I spend a lot of my free time in the building. I have been on
our Scott Wolves basketball team for the past two school years, and I even joined the volleyball team
this year. I have a part-time job that requires me to mentor elementary students after school in
mâmawêyatitân centre.  I volunteer every opportunity that I can to help my school out. I have been
doing lunch service every day for the past two school years, as well as catering events and prepping the
food for lunch service. I’m very passionate about cooking and hope to become a chef one day.
After I’m done high school, I will be attending the Regina Trades and Skills Program for line cook. After
that, I would like to work my way up to becoming a chef. I will also be attending the First Nations
University of Canada next fall to become a social worker (that’s if my other career option doesn’t work
out). I’m so excited to see what the future has planned for me!
