McKinley S.
Miller Compehensive Catholic High School
My name is McKinley, and I’ve been blessed to spend my last 4 years attending Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School. Education is a top priority for me as I look forward to pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Regina. My goal is a career in forensic medicine. Throughout high school, I’ve consistently kept my high honours, while striving for excellence in music, fitness and sports.
I started playing ringette 13 years ago, and I have had a passion for physical fitness ever since. Playing at the competitive level has taught me the importance of physical and mental preparation. I discovered Wheelhouse Cycle Club 5 years ago, when I was young and unsure of who I really was. The community gave me the space, opportunity and encouragement to become the person I am today. My other great passion is music. Singing, songwriting and performing have been my escape whenever I’m overwhelmed, and I believe music has helped make me a well rounded individual.
My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011, and her journey is ultimately what sparked my interest in the medical field. Since her diagnosis, I have volunteered and fundraised with the MS society to raise awareness and help those living with MS. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity Twelfth Year has given me, and I am excited for what the future holds!
