F. W. Johnson Collegiate

My name is Lydia Nguyen, and I am a Grade 12 student and proud Wildcat from F.W. Johnson Collegiate!

Throughout these past four years, I’ve been involved with a variety of circles at Johnson, including the concert band, badminton team, French club, and I was an Outdoor School leader earlier this year. In Grade 11, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in the school’s Leadership class where I was able to help organize school events and interact with my local community. I am also an advocate for LGBTQ rights and my friend and I hosted Johnson’s first Pride celebration to show support for students of all gender identities and orientations!

Concerning my academics, I’ve consistently maintained a high overall average of above 97% each year and am the recipient of numerous subject awards. I’m a multimedia artist with a strong passion for arts and culture. I love to work with anything I can get my hands on, but my strongest area is digital illustration. Though I’ve worked part time since I was 15, I do commission work on the side and occasionally participate in art anthologies online.

I’m a bit nervous about the road ahead, but I’m very excited to see where the future will take me! I’m currently enrolled in pre-pharmacy at the University of Regina’s Faculty of Science. I’d like to thank all of the incredible staff at Johnson, as well as my peers, for all of their constant support!
