My name is Kylie. For the past 17.5 years of my life, I have been blessed with opportunities, faced with challenges, and have learned from a variety of experiences. Every detail of my life has helped to shape me into the person I am today―balanced, determined, compassionate, and enthusiastic.
I grew up in a small, supportive family consisting of my parents and twin sister. My parents have always supported me and encouraged me to strive for excellence in all that I do. My twin sister has challenged me through constant competition, allowing me to accomplish things I would have never imagined.
I have been fortunate enough to play for my school’s soccer and basketball teams for all of my high school years, as well as participated in track-and-field events for two years. In addition, I was able to maintain the highest academic average in my high school in 2013 and 2014.
Volunteering has played a big role in my life these past few years. I volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation in 2014, and I regularly volunteer at Circle Square Ranch, a summer camp in Wolf Creek, Saskatchewan.
I am honoured to have received this award, and I thank all of those who believe I deserve it. I hope to continue to grow and remain active in my community.
