Jonah – Campbell Collegiate
Hello, friends…Jonah Toth here!
I am a proud IB Diploma student, studying all core subject areas with the academic rigor and international mindedness of the IB Program. With the announcement of the cancellation of the program, I have been involved in the fight to save it for future generations.
Music has always been very important to me, and I have been playing the piano for nine years and the violin for six years.
I am also an avid long-distance runner, competing provincially in both cross-country and track events and ran my first half marathon in September 2013, finishing the QCM Half 13th overall, and I haven’t looked back since.
However, my most meaningful extracurricular involvements are in service to others. I am proud to serve as a co-president of the Campbell SLC, volunteer in the Pediatric Unit at the General Hospital, and am involved with Best Buddies.
Leading the Campbell Me to We Team, we have raised over $65,000 for local and global initiatives in the past three years. My involvements with the group earned me the opportunity to travel to India in July 2015 on the PotashCorp Youth Food Security Trip and to speak on the WE Day stage.
I’ve been honoured to receive the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award, the Regina Youth Philanthropist Award, and to have been selected as a Loran finalist. I am thankful to have been chosen for Twelfth Year and am delighted to have this opportunity to share my story with you.
