Joanne Lexine M.

Archbishop M.C. O’Neil Catholic High School

Hi there! My name is Joanne Lexine Mantes, and I am ready to do great things in the world. Throughout my year at Archbishop M.C. O’Neill High School, I’ve been a part of the student representative council in the spirit committee as well as co-run our various social media accounts during my senior year. As president of our Interact Club, I make sure to be at our fundraising functions, such as our Ripple Effect project that enabled a handful of children in Venezuela to go to school with the money we raised. I have taken part in bake sales and volunteered to raise money for a vast number of causes. Providing help to others has always been my passion, which is why I am also a peer leader at my school. To make my days even busier, I play clarinet, sing soprano in choir and vocal jazz, performed in drama productions, and come home to a large amount of homework at the end of the day.

I pride myself on being able to accomplish so much in the little time the day provides. My desire to become an ophthalmologist makes the work and stress feel like rungs on the ladder to success. I am applying to a number of universities to study medicine and planning on achieving my MD.

I am very thankful to receive this amazing opportunity from Twelfth Year and I’m excited to start my life as a university in the fall term. Wish me luck!
