Luther College High School
Jasnoor Guliani is very involved in the academic and extra-curricular life at Luther College. As an IB Diploma student, he challenges himself daily to succeed in academic pursuits, and plans on studying gengineering at university in his future, specifically focusing on sustainable development. Particularly, Jasnoor enjoys the classes of Biology and English. Outside of class, he is the elected Treasurer of the School Representative Council, where he helps plan and lead school events, and co-leads bi-weekly international cafés to connect and integrate the diverse student body at his school. Further, he is very involved in Luther’s Debate Club, succeeding at national and international tournaments, including a strong finish at the Canadian British Parliamentary Nationals in December and participating in a tournament in Oxford, England in March. He also co-leads a debate club at Mother Teresa Middle School, in an effort to use his passion to teach debate skills and concepts to youth and give back to his community. Recently, Jasnoor also finished third place in a national essay contest with an essay written on the importance of debate and discussion in the development of knowledge. In his free time, Jasnoor enjoys playing and watching basketball, reading about science and history, and long-distance running.
