Janna E.

Regina Huda School

I am Janna Elshakankiri. I have called Regina home for the past eight years. Since grade nine, I have been a student at Regina Huda School, and I am looking forward to graduating in June 2021.

I have been part of the SLC club at RHS since grade nine. Outside of SLC, I volunteered to referee basketball and volleyball games at my school. I was also a member of the debate club in grades nine and ten. I have managed to receive the great honour roll award throughout all years of high school.

I have been a fencer for over five years. Today, fencing is a huge part of my life. I love fencing because it is a sport that does not only test one’s physical abilities but also mental abilities. Fencing has opened many opportunities for me; I traveled all around Canada for competitions and training. My most notable fencing achievements are being the Canadian National Champion in 2018 and the Egyptian National Champion in 2019.

Along with being a fencer, I also play basketball and squash. I have also been a volunteer at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for over four years.

With my great passion for science, I am looking forward to pursuing a biology degree at university.

I am very thankful to my parents for all their support to continue all the activities I love. I am also grateful to each of my passionate teachers at RHS for helping me be who I am today.
