Jamie S.

Sheldon-Williams Collegiate

My name is Jamie, and I am a member of the Sheldon-Williams Collegiate class of 2019.
During my years at Sheldon, I have participated in the Student Leadership Council and, this year, I am the Vice-President.

Academics have always been important to me. I have been on the honour roll each year. I have worked hard in high school and will graduate with 42 credits, far exceeding the required 24credits.

Music is my passion. I am involved in the Sheldon-Williams concert choir, concert band, vocal jazz, jazz band and jazz combo ensembles. I have expanded my skills by accompanying the choirs and the 2019 school musical. In 2018 and 2019, I was selected for the Saskatchewan Band Association Honour Band Program. I have taken piano lessons for 10 years and have attained the Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 8 piano and advanced rudiments music theory certificates. I have recently begun percussion lessons at the Conservatory of Performing Arts. I am the principal of the percussion section for the South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra. I have attended the Prairielands jazz band camps and the Banff Performing Arts Centre orchestra symposium.

I love to swim and have achieved the national life saving and water safety instructor designations. I am a lifeguard and instruct swimming and teach piano lessons. I also volunteer in the community.
Next year, I will be attending the University of Regina.
