Gerone D
Archbishop M.C. O’Neil Catholic High School
Hi, my name is Gerone, and I am a proud O’Neill Titan.
Being at Archbishop M. C. O’Neill Catholic High School has shaped me to who I am
today. I am very proud to be part of a welcoming, educative community that always
inspires students to strive to their full potential. Although my education and learning is
essential to me, I am very involved within my school. This school year, I am fortunate to
serve as O’Neill’s SRC President. Being on SRC has improved my leadership skills,
enlightened self-confidence, and given me the opportunity to make a difference in my
school. I enjoy being able to lead, connect, and create relationships with the students
and staff of O’Neill.
In my school, I am involved in my school’s choir, Vocal Jazz groups, Praise and
Worship band, musicals, and improv team. Outside of school, I am involved in Filipino
folk dancing with The Maharlika Dance Group of Regina for ten years as a dancer,
teacher, and youth ambassador. One of my favourite dances is “Baston”, which is
Tagalog for “cane”. I always love dancing with the cane; it has a “Singin’ in the Rain”
vibe to it. With Filipino folk dancing, I am very proud of my culture.
Talking about my future, I am elated to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher.
Because I am in the French Immersion program, I am thrilled to continue my French
speaking through le Baccalauréat en Éducation program (le Bac) at the University of
Regina.
