Cody – Thom Collegiate

My name is Cody, and I’m a Grade 12 student at Thom Collegiate. I’ve gone to Thom for four years and have been heavily involved in extracurricular activities every year. I played on our school basketball team since Grade 9. Football has been a big part of my life since I was 9 years old. I played Regina Minor Football in Grades 6-10 and for Thom during Grades 11 and 12. I started playing rugby in Grade 9 and it has also been a big part of my life – I’ve played for team Saskatchewan and Prairie Wolf Pack and also had the opportunity to try out for Team Canada as well. The past two summers I’ve been travelling all over Canada for rugby to make it to the next level.

As my high school career comes to an end, I’m excited for what the future holds as I’m hoping to play for the Thunder next fall and provincial rugby in the summer. I also plan to attend the University of Regina next year to get my Social Work degree.

High school has taught me a lot about myself; never set your standards too low, never let anyone tell you different, and follow your dreams no matter the circumstances because at the end of the day all you have is yourself. The supports from my family, coaches and mentors have helped me on this long journey and so I would like to give big thanks to them and everyone else at Thom Collegiate.
