Hello! I am Aminta, and being a student at Miller High School has affected my life in many positive ways. I have been involved in many extracurricular activities such as SRC, band, choir, drama, improv and the Pre-Profession Health Club. This year I am President of the SRC and I played the lead role of Sebastian in the musical The Little Mermaid. Along with my extracurricular involvement I am also very dedicated to academics. I have been on the major honour roll for the past three years and in Grade 10 I was awarded four subject awards. In Grade 11, I was awarded six subject awards for achieving the highest mark in each subject and I received the award for achieving the highest overall average of 99.56%. Currently, I am taking AP English and AP Calculus and last year I received a score of 5 on the AP Psychology exam.

In the future I plan on pursuing a career in medicine. I have applied and been accepted to Queen’s University with an $8000 entrance scholarship and the University of Regina with a $3500 entrance scholarship. I plan on completing a degree in science or nursing as a first step before applying to Medical School. I have also been nominated by the staff of Miller High School for the Chancellor’s Scholarship at Queen’s University and the Schulich Leader Scholarship for students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. I would like to thank the staff of Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School for supporting me and constantly encouraging me to do my best. Miller has always been a place where I felt I belong and I feel I have been exceptionally prepared for the future. I am honoured to have been chosen as a Twelfth Year Ambassador and I would like to thank Andrea Norberg and Erin Ball for all of their work in making this new program a success.
