Archbishop M.C. O’Neill Catholic High School

My name is Amara Kohlert and I’m a Grade 12 French immersion student at Archbishop M.C. O’Neill
Catholic High School. At the end of Grade 10, having thoroughly enjoyed previous years at O’Neill, I
decided to apply for the Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC was a perfect fit and allowed me
to share my school spirit while introducing me to a phenomenal community of people. This year, I’m the
Vice President. I’ve been a member of the school volleyball team all four years, receiving MVP from
Grade 9 to 11. It has been an honour to pursue my passion of the sport while wearing a Titan jersey.
After the school season comes to an end, I continue playing as a member of a club volleyball team. This
being my sixth consecutive year on a club team, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance and hard
work, two traits that I do my best to translate into my academics. I received great distinction for my
marks from Grade 9 through 11 and am on track to maintain that this year. Throughout my first three
years, I earned six academic awards for completing my courses with the highest average. I’m involved in
the AP English and French programs and completed the AP Psychology program last year which ignited
my passion for that topic. Next year, I plan on pursuing a career in Psychology. Outside of school, I enjoy
face painting at birthday parties and events, writing poetry, and painting.
