My name is Alissa Sadler and I’m a senior at Winston Knoll! My years as a Wolverine have taught me a lot about the world, and about myself. I’ve kept myself busy with extracurricular arts activities, like chamber choir, jazz band, vocal jazz, piano lessons, and various school musicals! Through these, I have been fortunate to meet so many incredible people and show off my creativity, work ethic, and passion.
I chose to have my picture taken outside of my church, Bethlehem Apostolic Church, where I’m heavily involved in the choir, youth ministry, and teaching children about God. My faith means a lot to me and is a big part of who I am, so I’m happy I was able to show that. My religious beliefs have taught me to excel in every aspect, especially academically, and I think I’m doing pretty well at that! I have been on the honour roll every year since grade 6 because of my hard work. I hope that I can show the love I have been given from God, my family, friends, and church to everyone I come into contact with, and that I can be someone others can look up to as I enter the Faculty of Arts and major in Sociology at the U of R. As someone from a family of immigrants originating from Jamaica, I am immensely grateful for opportunities like these in Canada. I hope to make the most of them in years to come!
