Tyson – Thom Collegiate
My name is Tyson Haubrich, and I am a Grade 12 student at Thom Collegiate. Since elementary school, football has been a big part of my life. I started playing football competitively as soon as I was old enough to join a team. I played with the Regina Minor Football (RMF) league from Grades 6-9 and the Thom football team in Grades 10-12. This year, I received four league awards: Schwann Conference Special Team Player of the Year, Schwann Conference Defensive Back All Star, Schwann Conference Punter All Star, and two Schwann Conference Player of the Week awards throughout the season. I have also received numerous awards at my school for football, such as Defensive Player of the Year and Most Dedicated Player, as well as a few others. I am presently on the Regina Thunder as a Defensive Back and plan to continue playing football after graduation.
In Grade 9, I really enjoyed my electrical class, and I continued taking this class throughout my high school career, with a plan to become an electrician someday. I was in the electrical program at Campus Regina Public for the past two years, and it confirmed my decision to make this my career pathway. I have completed the Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship program and am hoping to find a job with an electrical company this summer so that I may continue on the apprenticeship route and fulfill my goal of becoming a Journeyperson Electrician.
