“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it” (Michael Jordan). My name is Kaylee, and I have the attitude that each day is a new day and I have the power to conquer any obstacle in front of me. Life is a reflection of the choices that I make. In my life, I choose to feel blessed, grateful, inquisitive and determined. I choose to live a life by choice, not by chance.

I attend Winston Knoll and am proud of my high academic average. One area which brings me great joy and satisfaction is competing in the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF). I have showcased my scientific and technological achievements in Charlottetown, Lethbridge, and Windsor. In 2013, I was awarded a bronze medal award of excellence at the CWSF. I am also involved with volleyball, basketball, and track. Volunteering with physically and mentally challenged students and canvassing for diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, and heart and stroke is intrinsically rewarding.

Life is full of choices. No matter what obstacles come my way, the choice of staying positive, persevering, and having the support of my family and friends has allowed me to overcome them. I believe in myself and my abilities, and I look forward to my bright future.
