Campbell Collegiate High School

Hi! I’m Amber, a Grade 12 student. I have experienced tremendous personal growth throughout high school, which was amplified by the pandemic. The Quarantine in Grade 9 played a significant role in expanding this growth. It gave me lots of time to figure out who I was and what my passions and interests were, which have now become an integral part of my story.

During Quarantine, I discovered a deep love for Volkswagen vans. It’s hard to explain, but every time I see one, I get a rush of excitement that almost makes me pass out! I also fell in love with sustainable living, 70s music and weightlifting during this time. These passions have stayed with me throughout my high school journey and have helped shape who I am today.

The pandemic also gave me the motivation to pursue my dreams. I took the initiative to start an eco-club at Cambell and focused on making it more sustainable. This, in turn, led me to launch a self-run project that collects perfectly good food from local stores that would have been discarded and brings it to Regina’s community fridges. I’m proud of this initiative, and it’s one of the things that define my high school experience.

I’m grateful for my high school experience and self growth I have had, which allowed me to grow in ways I never thought possible. I’m excited to see where the future takes me, and I’m thankful for everything that has happened to me.
