Winston Knoll Collegiate

My name is Abigail Sadowski, graduating from Winston Knoll Collegiate. I am honoured to be selected as a Twelfth Year Ambassador. I have a passion for anything related to science, as I love to ask questions and learn new concepts. I have participated in school and regional science fairs and have just been selected to represent the Regina Region at the virtual Canada-Wide Science Fair in May 2021. I have decided to pursue post-secondary education in science at the University of Regina, however, I am uncertain as to what direction in science I will take.

I have participated with the cheer team in my community and at school which led me to work as an assistant cheer coach in my community. Since the pandemic, I have started to volunteer with the Saskatchewan Science Center for their Go!Code Girls program. Both cheer and coding have provided me with the opportunity to spend time encouraging young girls in Regina, but to also support them to be more active and to explore education and career options in STEM.

I love to volunteer in my local community with a number of different organizations, as I feel fulfilled by helping others. Giving back to my community is an important part of who I am, as I hope that the time I spend with others makes a positive impact on their lives.

As I begin my post-secondary education path, I would like to make a significant contribution to science, and the possibilities are endless!
